THE OTHER SANTIAGO

The result in the Cathedral wasn't altogether bad - the frontportal was closed because of restoration work - but also not too impressive. I thus went on with my research. Opposite to the church there is a "Hostal", the most famous of Spain: the "Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos". In former days a refuge for pilgrims, after that a hospital for the poor and now once again a "Hostal" for......rich pilgrims....

Approaching the entrance I didn't believe my eyes: all around it was decorated with an abundance of fascinating sculptures. Left and right: below in the picture the Mother Scallop, Origin of all life, on top of it the Cauldron of Abundance (Grail!), which is thus born out of Maternal Emptiness completed by a Green Man who's mission it is to benefit the world with the Cosmic Gift.....unbelievable!

And this was only the beginning.....

 For here this scene is repeating itself, only in another sequence: below the Cosmic Womb, then the Green Man who is carrying the "Cauldron of Abundance" (the Grail, as you probably understood already) on his head, sharing it with the world...

The Lady and the beasts

The Primordial Mother, this time displayed as Plateresque figure ( Renaissance style), Her vulva - Gate to the Mystery of life - open, with the "Cauldron of Abundance" on Her head..... 

Here once again the same theme: Grail and Green Man i.e. a Green Beast (Bull).
