Candi Sewu 2
A surprise right from the start

Three more topics: 1) Kala as Mother of the Gods, 2) Kirtimukha or Green Men as Her Son/Lover, very much similar to European Green Men, and the 3) Caudron of Abundance, symbolizing the Holy Grail. Together with my findings elaborated on Sewu page 1 the conclusion is that Candi Sewu preserved the memory of pre-historic times

Many similar images of the protecting Kala head and Her daughter Goddesses and Gods

KALA AS THE MOTHER OF GODS AND GODDESSES

The recurrent pattern proves that this is an archetype, e.g. a spiritual truth

Goddess

Every time I am astonished about the beauty

Green Men faces on top of pillars, just like in Europe

KIRTIMUKHA CORRESPONDING WITH EUROPEAN GREEN MEN
Confirming that the original Sumerian myth of the Mother and Her Son/Lovers ("Vegetation Gods") equally spread to the East as to the West!

Their function is to guard the shrine

WHICH IS A REVOLUTIONARY DISCOVERY....

Two faces to two sides

You could call him: A Javanese Green Man

Ditto

In Europe these masks are also known as "foliate faces". They express the Divine  immanent in nature

Ditto

Green Man: pre-Hindu e.g. pre-Buddhist Deity in his (new) function as Demon/Guard

THE CAULDRON OF ABUNDANCE, OR COSMIC WOMB, IN THE WEST SYMBOLIZED BY THE HOLY GRAIL
